1. Initial Consultation and Information Gathering
Our initial consultation will enable us to find out from you what your expectations and website requirements are, and how Terebinth can assist you with meeting them. This could be at our office, your office/home, or online via Blackberry Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Skype or even FB Chat!
We will ask a few questions, like:
- How do you want the "look and feel" of the site of your site to reflect on your business. It's best you browse the internet and see if you can find a couple of websites that you like and make a note of what it is that you like about them such as colours, layouts, navigation etc.

What sort of information/services do you want to promote? The opening page is the gateway to the rest of the services that you offer and requires the most thought. If you do not relate the essence of your business to your customers within the first few seconds their mouse is heading off elsewhere and you may have missed an opportunity
2. Domain Name/Hosting
This is about who you are on the web and where your website is located e.g "www.yourwebsite.com". Once we have designed your site, we have to find a home for it so that others can visit and access your website.
A "Domain Name" is your business address on the web which you have to purchase via a registered agent. Most domain names end in .com as in our case www.terebinthlimited.com. But there are many other extensions available: .net, .org, .biz, .uk, .us, .org.ng, .com.ng,.org.uk, etc. Most countries have their own specific extensions eg .au .co.za, .it, .com.ng etc. We always advise our clients to get the general .com extension if it's a business, .org if it's an NGO, .net if it's a computer/IT related business. Domains with the general extension i.e. .com, .org, .net are said to do much better on the search engines.
"Hosting" is where an external company stores and manages your Website and "hosts" your domain name. Terebinth will recommend the right hosting package for you based on your website's requirements. Some of our clients already have their hosting done and only need a design. We can upload the design for you once it's ready or simply email you the design to upload yourself. Not all sites can be emailed though. For our CMS sites, we will have to upload it ourselves as there's usually a fair amount of technical expertise required..
Terebinth Limited is a registered reseller of Domain Names and Hosting Packages and will assist you in choosing the most approprite hosting solution for your business. For CMS websites, we usually recommend more specific hosting.
Note: Domain Name and Hosting are an additional cost to your Website design, and it is a recurrent cost, usually paid annually.
